This is a REAL "work from home" job - with room to grow if you would like to learn how to become a paralegal.

Attorney / busy mom based in Boston needs help approximately 20 hours per week.

Duites include reviewing emails, conducting online research, calendar management, making calls, drafting correspondence, proof-reading, task managment, as well as scheduling family events and occasionally assisting teenage son with on-line homework assignments.

Must be comfortable using Microsoft Word, Skype, Duo, VOIP phone, email, and online search engines. Experience with Excell is a bonus. You should be self-motivated and have a good sense of humor. You should have the ability to learn new programs / systems as needed.

Salary is paid every other week via Western Union, Paypal, or other mutually agreed upon method. Pay is detailed below.

Attorney is fair and you will be compensated for all time worked; even time spent learning new programs, new skills or redoing a project.

Attorney has previously had VA's from India and considers the experiences positive. Attorney understands that cultural differences can be challenging. Attorney knows that Americans can be curt and direct and that is often interpreted as rude or dismissive. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to American culture and must be able to provide information (even negative or unpleasant case outcomes) in a concise fashion.

Past VA's that were NOT successful and were terminated if: they violated confidentiality, they tried to send my work out to be completed by someone else, they were consistantly not reachable during work hours, they used company funds for personal expenses, they failed to adapt to an American work style or writing style, they lacked attention to detail or repeatedly missed deadlines, they could not give bad news in a direct manner, or were unable to complete work in a reasonable time frame.

Attorney describes herself as kind and understanding but "sometimes difficult to work for" . She states that she has more things to do than she has time for.

Additionally, attorney recently had a medical condition which prevented her from working for almost a year. She states that the legal profession is "male dominated" and the attorney often needs to face discrimination. "Most letters I receive start with "Dear Sir". I stop reading right there. The author is telling me that he/ she is either sexist or failed to do their homework and I do not have time for either".

The attorney is looking for someone with a personality. "Most of the resumes I get are all the same. They do not show me who the applicant really is or they have typos / grammatical errors. I cannot hire someone whose own resume is wrong. If I am going to be working with this person 20-40 hours per week for (hopefully) several years, they need to be thorough but also have a personality. They need to have their own opinions." A good sence of humor is helpful in this position.

Attorney says the the most difficult part of this job is two fold. One is deadlines. "Sometimes things come up at the last minute and the deadline is soon. We cannot miss deadlines". The second most difficult part is "finding the balance between deferance as an employee" and the ability to tell the attorney directly when she is wrong.

Two week training will be paid 400 Indian Rupees per hour. (8,000 for 20 hours / 16,000 total for two weeks)

6 month trial will be paid 500 rupees per hour (20,000 rupees every week, 40,000 paid every two weeks)

Salary after trial period starts at 600 rupees per hour plus paid holidays and vacation.

625,000 rupees part time per year OR 1,250,000 rupees full time per year.

With additional experience and education (we would pay for any training), that number could double within a few years.
